Dr. Tahmina Arieb
Dr. Tahmina Arieb is a therapeutic licensed optometrist whose expertise lies in family practice with special interest in diabetic eye care, ocular disease, urgent care, glaucoma co-management, postoperative care, and pediatrics. Dr. Arieb graduated from University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelors of Science in Human Biology and earned her Doctorate of Optometry from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed her training with internships at Veterans affair hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, Boston Ophthalmic consultants in Northern Virginia, Dimock Community Health center in Boston, and Perkins school for the blind in Watertown, Massachusetts. Dr. Arieb had the privilege of volunteering by providing primary eye care, glasses and treatment for under-served populations in the greater Boston community and more recently served as one of four optometrist on a humanitarian mission with VOSH to La Barca, Mexico.
Dr. Arieb and her husband have a little girl and a baby boy. When she is not busy playing and taking care of them, she loves to cook and try new dishes. She also loves to relax regularly by practicing yoga, swimming and reading.
Dr. Daniel Rubin
Dr. Daniel Rubin was born and raised in the GTA. He graduated from York University with a Secialized Honours degree in Biology. He then continued his education, pursuing his interest in becoming a health care provider and graduating from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science in 2015. Dr. Rubin was the recipient of the RACH memorial award for demonstrating undefeatable courage, strength, perseverance and determination. During his final year of study, he completed various clinical internship rotations in and around the city of Toronto, including an ocular disease and therapeutics rotation focusing on retinal diseases such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. His optometric interests include ocular disease, pediatrics and contact lens fitting and care.
Dr. Rubin and his wife have two sons. When not spending time with his family, he enjoys playing music, acting, singing, and the outdoors. He looks forward to meeting and providing high quality eye care to patients of all ages.
Dr. Daniel Stoikos
Dr. Stoikos received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Waterloo and his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston. Certified by both Canadian and American board exams, he began practicing in 2016. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrist (CAO) and the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO). His extern rotations included private practice clinics in Ontario and Texas with a specialty rotation at the glaucoma clinic at the University of Houston.
Louise is a licensed optician who's passion for optics began in 2005 in Ottawa, Ontario. She came to Barrie to study, and graduate from the Georgian College Opticianry program with honors. She is a self professed optical geek, with a love of helping people to see the world better. In her spare time she continues to support student opticians, by tutoring and mentoring those currently enrolled in the Georgian College program, as well as those preparing to take the NACOR exams.
When she is not geeking out over optics, she likes to spend her time with her husband, indulging in various hobbies, including a love of science fiction, digital artwork and trying new recipes.
She joined our team when we first opened our doors back in Fall of 2015. Her bubbly and positive personality is a pleasure to be around.
Pina studied arts and science at the University of Guelph. She then came back to her hometown, Barrie, and completed a medical office administration program at Georgian College.
When is not in the office, Pina enjoys cooking and creating new vegetarian recipes. She also loves to paint and draw in her spare time.
Pina joined our team in the fall of 2016. Her smiley face and kind demeanour has made it a pleasure to work with.
